Syrian President Bashar al-Assad requested approval from a joint command of Syrian, Russian and Iranian officials in Tehran to transfer chemical weapons to a safer location outside the country, with the cooperation of other countries, including Israel, according to a report by the Al-Arabiya news agency on Thursday.

Al-Arabiya has recently published what it claims are classified documents, allegedly leaked by the Syrian president's office, revealing cooperation between Syria, Russia and Iran to defeat the ongoing uprising against Assad and his regime.

In another document disclosed by Al-Arabiya, the Syrian commander in charge of Syria's border with Israel was ordered to coordinate with Israeli commanders a transfer of chemical weapons via the Jordanian border.

Syrian, Russian and Iranian officials have not commented on the report and some Western sources claimed the documents were forged.

Documents disclosed by Al-Arabiya are said to belong to highly classified security files obtained by the news agency from opposition sources in Syria, and the agency said it has authenticated the origin of the documents.

On Oct. 1, a report published by Al-Arabiya revealed a document sent by the head of Assad’s Special Security force, Maj. Gen. Dhu al-Himma Shalish, to Saqr Mannon, head of the country's Air Force Intelligence, instructing him to launch a truck bomb attack at the security forces headquarters in the Qazzaz neighborhood of Damascus, "and this is a direct order of the president after consultations and recommendations he received from the joint command in Tehran, according to which there is a need to convince global public opinion that there are terrorist groups operating in Syria.”

The bomb attack took place on May 10 and killed 55 people, mostly security forces.
