There they toured Ramat Hanadiv and visited the grave of Baron Edmond James de Rothschild. They also visited Beit Aaronsohn, the Nili Museum, which commemorates the underground Jewish spy network based in the area that assisted the United Kingdom against the Ottoman Empire during World War I.

At Beit Aaronsohn, Netanyahu was given a folder containing letters exchanged between Alexander Aaronsohn, the brother of Nili leader Aaron Aaronsohn, and Netanyahu's late father, historian Professor Benzion Netanyahu, during the pre-state era.

"These are copies of letters of my late father, who was 28 at the time," Netanyahu said on Monday. "He and Aaronsohn talked about the future of Zionism, the storm sweeping the world with the rise of Nazism, and the documentation of the Nili underground, which my father took part in as a historian. I am very touched. These are the basis of the new pioneering spirit."
