Two Israelis were seriously wounded on Sunday morning when a Palestinian terrorist emerged from a vehicle and opened fire at a checkpoint near Beit El in Samaria. A third Israeli was lightly wounded in the attack. The three wounded Israelis, all in their early 20s, were transported to hospitals in Jerusalem for treatment.
The terrorist was shot and killed by IDF troops at the scene. Following the attack, the IDF conducted searches in the area, which is located near Ramallah.
A Magen David Adom paramedic who arrived at the scene said: "Near the checkpoint, we saw three wounded people. They were fully conscious. One was wounded in the upper body, the second in the lower body and the third in the limbs. Our goal was to get them to an operating room in a hospital as quickly as possible."
The terrorist was identified as 34-year-old Amjad Sukari from the village of Jama'in in the Nablus region. Some reports said Sukari worked a security guard for the Palestinian Authority's attorney general.
Sukari reportedly wrote on Facebook shortly before carrying out the attack: "A morning of victory. I have nothing to live for."
