Advertising man Udi Pridan, who recently slammed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Likud voters in an interview to the financial newspaper Globes, apologized Thursday for his offensive remarks.

About two weeks ago, Pridan, who led Moshe Kahlon's election campaign, had some harsh words to say about Netanyahu, whom he called "the devil, a bad man, dishonest, war-mongering, divisive and a charlatan."

Pridan also launched into a racist rant against the Mizrahi Jewish public, many of whom voted for Netanyahu, saying they suffered from an "inferiority complex."

"I was wrong to call the prime minister 'the devil,'" Pridan said on Twitter. "This is our prime minister, who was elected in a fair democratic election.

"It was a poor choice of words and I'm sorry for that. I also owe an apology to those I offended by my insensitive stereotypical comments, which I truly regret," Pridan said.

"When I said those things I was in state of inner turmoil after being emotionally involved in the recent election campaign. I choose not to hide behind 'my comments were taken out of context' or 'I was misquoted' and I sincerely apologize to those who were hurt," Pridan said.
