The Israel Central Bureau of Statistics released a report on love in honor of the Tu B'Av holiday, an ancient date marking the beginning of the grape harvest that is celebrated as a sort of Valentine's Day in modern Judaism. While some of the numbers about love are encouraging, the data revealed Jerusalem as Israel's capital of divorce, with 874 couples divorcing in 2013, followed by 779 couples in Tel Aviv, 629 couples in Haifa, 439 couples in Petach Tikva and 438 couples in Rishon Lezion. On the brighter side, the report found that 52,705 couples were married in 2013 in Israel, 75% of them Jewish. The average age of first-time grooms in 2013 was 27.7 (28 among Jews), and for first-time brides was 25.1 (26 among Jews).
