The murderers will go back to murdering

The Israeli government decided on Tuesday night to redeem Israeli soldier Gilat Shalit, held captive for more than five years. One thousand prisoners --that is the price the prime minister agreed to pay. In the end, Benjamin Netanyahu completely caved to the dictates of Hamas, which stubbornly held to its position without budging for a second.

This is cause for celebration for the Shalit family. Their son is returning home, and my heart is with them. However, alongside the emotional public response, things must be put in their proper proportions, and it should be understood that this deal will bring serious troubles upon the people of Israel. History proves that lowly murderers released in such deals cause the deaths of hundreds innocent Israelis. The shocking images of the Fogel family, slaughtered by such murderers, are scorched into the Israeli memory.

Anyone who thinks that these murderers will return home quietly upon their release and enjoy their freedom is making a bitter mistake. These murderers will quickly return to planning and executing the murders of hundreds of additional Jews at the first opportunity that falls into their hands.

The feeling of security that has returned in recent years to the Israeli public is now in danger. In addition, Netanyahu's wretched decision endangers all Israeli soldiers, who have become a hot commodity in the eyes of the terrorist organizations, especially Hamas, whose standing on the Arab street just went up significantly. Netanyahu proved once again that he is not capable of protecting the interests of the people of Israel, and that he is leading us off a cliff.
