Transit information for Israel is now available on Google Maps in Hebrew, English and Arabic. Google, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and Israel Railways, has made bus, railway and light rail routes information available to the public on maps.google.co.il. Google Maps Transit helps users plan trips around Israel and within cities using public transportation including driving and walking directions. The Transit development "is part of our effort to make Google Maps more comprehensive, accurate and useful for millions of people in Israel and around the world who take buses, trains or trams to their next destination," Google Israel said. Transit includes information for 21 transport operators, including Egged, Dan, Israel Railways, CityPass, Kavim, Metropolin, and Superbus, and covers more than 25,000 bus stops and 53 railway stations across Israel. Around the world, Google Transit provides information for over one million stops in 800 cities. Transit information is available both on desktop and Google Maps for Android and iPhone. With Transit, Google joins a slew of applications that help users navigate public transportation around the country.
