Israel Hayom is still the leading daily newspaper in Israel for the third year running, according to a semi-annual survey issued on Monday.
The survey found that Israel Hayom daily edition's exposure has risen over the last year from 38.1 percent to 39.3%, making it the daily with the highest exposure rate in the country. The second most widely read paper, Yedioth Ahronoth, also increased its exposure over the last year from 35.8% to 37.4%.
The survey was conducted by Target Group Index, one of Israel's leading market research companies.
While Yedioth Ahronoth's weekend edition is still the most read paper on Friday, Israel Hayom's weekend edition enjoyed a rise to 32.8% exposure, up from 31.3% in 2011.
The TGI survey is based on a representative sample of Jewish Israeli respondents age 18 and up. The survey covered all major Hebrew dailies and radio broadcasts. TGI is affiliated with Kantar Media, an independent body that conducts media readership analysis on an ongoing basis in Israel.
