WATCH: WWII vet tells his story of liberating Buchenwald

U.S. Army Sergeant Rick Carrier fought in major battles in Europe, but his combat experience did not prepare him for what he witnessed as he entered the gates of the Buchenwald concentration camp.

Nazi concentration camp liberator U.S. Army Sergeant (ret.) Rick Carrier spoke last month at a March of the Living event. In uniform, Carrier told his story of liberating the Buchenwald concentration camp in Germany. "I was a battle-hardened soldier, but I never, ever, ever witnessed anything as horrible as this."
