The Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee is set to discuss Tuesday a response to a BDS initiative that sought to single out Jewish students on American college campuses, following a report on the issue published by Israel Hayom. Members of Students for Justice in Palestine, one of the better-known campus BDS groups, posted "eviction notices" on the dormitory doors of Jewish students, demanding that they evacuate in three days or have their property thrown out. The notices posted went on to state that the Israeli military does the same thing to Palestinians. The stunt prompted outrage among the Jewish student body. It was then reported to members of the Reservists on Duty Israel advocacy organization during a campus tour in the United States earlier this year, raising concern among Israelis. Ahead of the discussion, which was initiated by MKs Anat Berko (Likud), Nachman Shai (Zionist Union) and Aliza Lavie (Yesh Atid), committee chairman MK Avi Dichter (Likud) said, "Our support and help for a Jew who is threatened just for being Jewish is from within our souls."
