American actor and director Sean Penn arrived in Israel this week for his first visit to the country. Penn is taking part in the "Can Haiti Grow-" conference in Tel Aviv on reconstruction efforts in Haiti since the devastating 2010 earthquake. The conference was organized by the IsraAID humanitarian organization. Since arriving in Israel, Penn has visited Independence Hall and met with former President Shimon Peres. On Sunday evening, he was seen at a bar on Ben-Yehuda Street in Tel Aviv. It is believed Penn will depart Israel on Wednesday.
