Former Likud minister Gideon Sa'ar, who left politics late last year, expressed his support for the party on Sunday, saying that only Likud can prevent dangerous concessions on security issues. "Six years ago, when the Likud party returned to power, the dangerous process of withdrawals and concessions stopped. In light of the developments in Syria, Israel could soon find itself facing three terrorism fronts: in Gaza, in Lebanon, and on the Golan," Sa'ar posted on his Facebook page. "The Left must not be allowed to renew the attempts to [make] concessions in the heart of the Land of Israel, Judea and Samaria -- concessions that will hurt Israel's security and threaten major population centers on the coast and in Jerusalem." Sa'ar wrote that only one political movement, Likud, can keep such concessions from becoming a reality. "On March 17, vote [Likud]," Sa'ar urged. Last September, Sa'ar created political waves when he announced that he would be taking a break from political life to spend time with his family. There was much speculation about the reason behind his decision, particularly since he had been singled out as a potential successor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and as a likely candidate for chairmanship of the Likud.
