TGI report: Israel Hayom is Israel's No.1 daily!

New Target Group Index poll reveals Israel Hayom's weekday market share has grown to 39.8 percent, widening its lead over chief rival Yedioth Ahronoth • Weekend readership rises to 34 percent, cementing Israel Hayom's position as the leading newspaper in Israel for the fourth consecutive year.

Israel Hayom is the most widely read daily newspaper in Israel during weekdays, a new Target Group Index report determined Monday. According to the survey, which analyzed the public's exposure to newspapers and radio in Israel in the first half of 2014, Israel Hayom enjoys a 39.8 percent market share.

TGI's data proved that Israel Hayom has cemented its position as the leading newspaper in Israel, a position it has enjoyed for over four years. Israel Hayom has also expanded its lead over the newspaper ranked in second place, Yedioth Ahronoth, to a clear statistical gap of over 5 percent, with Yedioth Ahronoth's weekday exposure at 34.5 percent.

Israel Hayom's weekend market share has also noted a rise, with exposure reaching 34 percent. This figure represents a narrowing of the gap between Israel Hayom and Yedioth Ahronoth's weekend readership (38 percent).

Annualized, Israel Hayom's weekday exposure reaches 39.2 percent, compared to 38.4 percent in 2013; and 33.9 percent on weekends, compared to 32.9 percent last year.

The TGI report, conducted by Kantar Media TGI Research, reviews media consumption among Jewish Israelis aged 18 and up, and represents the media consumption of 4.12 million people.
