U.S. President Barack Obama wants a nuclear agreement with Iran. We understand that. The president is convinced he can get the best deal at the Persian bazaar. OK. Observers around the world are skeptical, but Obama believes what he believes. He thinks he will bring peace to everyone, including Iran and Cuba. On Sunday, Hillary Clinton announced her candidacy for the Democratic nomination in the 2016 presidential election. Clinton, who was an active secretary of state, would like to be a successful president, which raises some questions: Why is Obama trying undermine his heir apparent? Why this ungratefulness? Didn't Clinton endorse Obama and advocate on his behalf after the fierce battle between the two in the 2008 Democratic primaries? You remember this? Obama himself admitted to NPR last week what we all already knew, that the emerging final deal with Iran would only delay Iran's development of a nuclear bomb. In years 13, 14 and 15 of the deal, Iran's nuclear breakout time would be nearly zero. In other words, Obama will reap the rewards (international praise and vindication of his Nobel Peace Prize), and his heir -- who may be Clinton -- will have to cope with a nuclear Iran. One only has to read foreign newspapers to see that Israel is not alone in its skepticism about a deal with Iran. The American public does not believe the Iranians and neither does anyone else who has observed Iran's conduct over the years. Check out the French media to see what people are saying in France about the Iranian nuclear issue. So is this the legacy Obama wants to leave for Clinton? Mr. President, if you're not going to back away from a deal with Iran on Israel's behalf, at least do so for Clinton. After everything she has done for you, she does not deserve to have to clean up your mess. By the way, with all due respect to Clinton, her lack of serious competition within the Democratic Party does not necessarily mean she will be the next president. If Obama ultimately wises up and turns away from a deal with Iran, this will lead to reconciliation with the Republicans and America's friends and allies in the Middle East (Israel, Saudi Arabia and Egypt). Furthermore, it would aid Clinton's run for the presidency.
