Saudi Arabia is here to help storm the barricades following the Geneva nuclear agreement with Iran. Saudi media commentators are angry at "Mother Teresa" (U.S. President Barack Obama), who turned one cheek and then the other, as long as there would be an agreement, and as long as there would be peace. One cannot claim that Obama has ever sounded like Gary Cooper. Rather, he sounds more like Abie Nathan. A story on Saudi anger over the agreement with Iran was featured prominently on The New York Times website for most of the day on Tuesday. The Saudis realize that America has changed. At this rate, Iran will become America's main ally in the Persian Gulf region. Where can we honor the heritage of the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini- The Saudis remember how, in 1979, then-President Jimmy Carter abandoned Mohammed Reza Shah Pahlavi in favor of Khomeini. If the Persian Gulf was a game of cards, the ayatollahs would be the victors at a table where the other players were American presidents from the Democratic Party. The Sunni world is going crazy and the Shiite world is pinching itself in disbelief. Washington has in fact begun a retreat from the Middle East, but it could still change the balance of power in the region during the withdrawal. Obama, as was predicted at the start of his first term, is truly a magician. In accordance with his outlook, Obama has succeeded in turning the bad in our region into good, and the good into bad. Since Israel was first on the good side, that means it is actually now on the bad side. The Saudis see little difference between the nuclear deal the U.S. reached with Iran and the chemical weapons deal reached with Syria. Both are bad. The Shiite world is benefitting at the expense of the Sunni world. On Monday, as the talks in Geneva on the Iran nuclear program ended, talks began in the same place on the conflict in Syria. The Saudis would not mind if Israel attacked both Iran and Geneva. Saudi Arabia, like the rest of us, sees how the U.S. has given up on military power, gambling on diplomatic agreements instead. The Saudis fear that they will be next in line. After the signing of the Geneva agreement, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif indeed spoke of a new era in the Persian Gulf region in which everyone would live in peace and security. Happy is the believer, and only Obama believes the Iranians. Obama's problem, however, is that, according to a CNN poll, 53% of Americans do not think that he is trustworthy. During Ronald Reagan's presidency, America defeated the communist Soviet Union. Under George W. Bush, the U.S. military toppled the Taliban and Saddam Hussein. But during the Obama era, America is preserving existing regimes and making deals with them. Obama has brought diplomacy to the forefront and put the military on the back burner. Iran, Syria and North Korea are free to run wild. The sheriff, after killing Osama bin Laden, put the gun back in his holster. But not all is lost. On Tuesday, the U.S. sent two B-52 bombers into contested airspace over islands claimed by both China and Japan, after China dispatched an aircraft carrier to the area. Could it be that Obama has been able to convert B-52s into unmanned drones-
