Over 150 delegates from Arab and Jewish schools will discuss the Israeli-Palestinian conflict at a Model U.N. conference next week • Opinion Editor Steve Ganot speaks with delegate Sana Zahalka about the event, which promises to see emotions running high.

More than 150 delegates from Arab and Jewish high schools around Israel will attend a Model United Nations conference next week, where they will simulate the roles of diplomats at the real U.N. as they debate the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The event, which is being held on Jan. 18 at the Al Qassemi High School in Baqa al-Gharbiyye, promises to see emotions running high.

The Model U.N. is part of the Debate for Peace program, which operates in partnership with the Interfaith Encounter Association and Jerusalem Peacebuilders. It aims to facilitate debate on controversial topics in a respectful manner, and develop research, analytical, and linguistic skills among participants.

In this episode of Israel Hayom Insider, Opinion Editor Steve Ganot speaks with Sana Zahalka, a student from Al Qassemi High School and a Model U.N. delegate.
