The recommendation to award the unit the exemplary service commendation was made by the IDF's Medals and Commendations Committee last week, and was approved by IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gadi Eizenkot on Sunday.
"Over the past year, the Duvdevan Unit has consistently led combat operations in the Judea and Samaria sector, undertaking complex operational activities," the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said in a statement.
"Duvdevan has participated in hundreds of missions, under difficult and complex conditions, with the aim of apprehending suspected terrorists, thwarting terrorist attacks, and crippling terrorist infrastructure. Duvdevan has also developed and implemented special warfare tactics and instruments, enhancing operational efficiency. The commendation will be awarded to the unit's commanders and soldiers for their determination, tenacity, courage and creativity in carrying out their missions," the statement said.
