Several death threats have been made against Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Lieberman in recent days. The threats, in Arabic, were posted on his Facebook page. Lieberman's office informed Knesset Guard commander Maj. Gen. Yossi Griff of the threats. Griff filed a police complaint, as required. One of the threats consists of a photo of a masked man holding a bloody ax, accompanied by a caption saying: "You are our target. Your murder is close. We will carry out an attack on Tel Aviv tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, but we will not say where." Another threat is contained in a photo showing a masked man holding a knife, with a caption reading: "We will carry out more attacks and suicides in the occupied territories of 1948. We will stab you. We will avenge all shahids [martyrs]." Lieberman already has a permanent security detail, which was assigned to him when he was first named foreign minister, in 2009. At present, it has been decided not to increase the security around him.
