Israel Hayom investigative journalist Mordechai Gilat and researchers Michal Shabat and Uzi Dayan have been named the recipients of the 2015 Ometz Association for Good Governance and Social Justice award. In a statement released Sunday, the association said the three were honored "for their courage and unwavering efforts in exposing public corruption and social wrongs." The award ceremony, scheduled for Wednesday, will also honor former IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. (res.) Benny Gantz for his years of military service. Channel 10 News consumerism reporters Sivan Cohen and Noga Nir Neeman will be honored for "exposing social wrongs and corruption cases affecting Israeli consumers," and Israeli Arab i24 News anchorwoman Lucy Aharish will be honored "for her work in fighting racism and promoting tolerance."
