Branko Lustig, the Academy Award winning producer of "Schindler's List" and a Holocaust survivor, has decided to give his prestigious Oscar statue to Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum. As a child, the Croatian film producer had been imprisoned for two years in Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen and most members of his family died in the death camps across Europe. Lustig is scheduled to arrive in Israel next month as part of Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović's official visit. The statue will be delivered to the museum for permanent safekeeping at a special ceremony at Yad Vashem's Visual Center, where thousands of films dealing with the Holocaust are kept. Furthermore, the museum is to hold a seminar about the acclaimed movie, which portrays the life of the German industrialist who saved many Jews during World War II. During Grabar-Kitarović's visit, Croatia and Yad Vashem museum are to sign a memorandum of understanding in the field of education.
