Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu celebrated his 65th birthday on Tuesday at his office in Jerusalem, joined by his wife, Sara. Communications Minister Gilad Erdan toasted Netanyahu, saying: "In comparison to the rest of the world, you're really just at the beginning of the road. When looking at [British Prime Minister] Winston Churchill, and you love quoting him, he was, after all, elected prime minister when he was older than 65; [U.S. President Ronald] Reagan began when he was 70; and [Israeli Prime Minister] Ariel Sharon was elected when I was still his aide, at the age of 72. So as national leaders, they only began after your current age." Netanyahu thanked those in attendance for their "partnership and creativity," and added, "Many things are still ahead of us." President Reuven Rivlin, Russian President Vladmir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry also sent their birthday wishes.
