Social media networks have seen a significant rise in anti-Israel groups and posts since the death of 16-year-old east Jerusalem resident Muhammad Abu Khdeir last week. "My name is Muhammad Abu Khdeir. I was kidnapped and burned [alive] by settlers one day. You will not read about it this in Western media, because I am a Palestinian," was written on the backdrop of a picture of Abu Khdeir in the Facebook group HATE ISRAEL. Facebook has also been filled with posts by Jews calling for revenge against the Arabs. In a few cases, the posts were taken down after a few hours, likely due to complaints to Facebook's administration. Some users posted videos depicting attempts to harm Arabs. One such video showed footage taken from a bus, where a Jew wearing a black kippah is seen attacking a young Arab sitting behind the driver, while two officers in uniform, a major and a lieutenant, protect the Arab from the passengers seeking to hurt him. The videos and pictures uploaded onto the social media networks over the weekend had one central theme: revenge -- from both sides.
