Police on Wednesday raided the home of Rabbi Yosef Elitzur, the head of the Od Yosef Hai Yeshiva in Yitzhar and co-author of the controversial volume "Torat Hamelech," which discussed inter alia laws concerning the killing of non-Jews during times of war.

Rabbi Elitzur was not at home during the raid; police confiscated his personal computer. It appears that the raid was carried out in conjunction with ongoing investigations of "Torat Hamelech" co-authors Elitzur and Rabbi Yitzhak Shapira. Police suspect the two of incitement to violent behavior, including encouraging students at their respective yeshivot to carry out "price-tag" attacks and acts of violence against Palestinians.

Od Yosef Hai Yeshiva released a statement following the police raid of Elitzur's home, accusing the government of bullying the rabbis and their followers.

"This is another attempt by the authorities to instill fear and seal lips, but the Torah can never be silenced," the statement read.
