Israel has transferred the remains of a female suicide bomber, Fatah terrorist Ayat al-Akhras, back to the Palestinian Authority, Palestinian officials confirmed on Sunday. Akhras blew herself up in 2002 at the entrance to a supermarket in the Kiryat Hayovel neighborhood in Jerusalem, killing two Israelis -- Haim Smadar, 55, and Rachel Levy, 17. Similarly, the remains of suicide bomber Daoud Abu Sawai, who blew himself up in 2001 near the David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem, were returned to the PA as well. Israel has handed over the remains of eight terrorists over the last several weeks, and more bodies are scheduled to be transferred in the next few weeks.
