Sheba Medical Center Director-General Professor Zeev Rotstein told reporters that the former prime minister is now suffering from sepsis as well, saying the medical team assigned to Sharon was "handling the situation." "To the best of our understanding, he is not in any pain at the moment," said Rotstein. According to Rotstein, "Sharon's sons are at his side and haven't moved. They are holding his hand at all times and he isn't alone even for a single moment." "He is fighting now like he has his entire life. We all love him and he has been known to surprise us in the past. We're keeping our fingers crossed that he won't suffer and we continue to provide him and his family with whatever support they may need." The Sheba Medical Center said in a previous statement that Sharon's condition could lead to multiple organ failure, which is a life-threatening situation. Doctors said that Sharon's comatose state and advanced age, 85, could complicate matters even further.
