Counterpoint Israel provides an exciting camp experience for underprivileged Israeli youth • Activities include art, music, dance and sports • Opinion Editor Steve Ganot speaks with former counselors Devora Schloss and Ariella Muller.

For young Israelis from underprivileged backgrounds, the summer months can be especially challenging. The weather is hot, the days are long, and summer activities such as family vacations, camps, or days out at swimming pools may not be affordable.

For the past 11 years, Yeshiva University's Center for the Jewish Future has provided a solution for hundreds of at-risk Israeli youths in the Counterpoint Israel program.

The program is an immersive service-learning initiative that aims to empower the next generation via an exciting, Jewish values-driven summer camp experience, while simultaneously instilling a sense of civic responsibility in its Yeshiva University student volunteers.

In this episode of Israel Hayom Insider, Opinion Editor Steve Ganot speaks with former counselors Devora Schloss and Ariella Muller about Counterpoint Israel.
