No negotiations means a new path

The Oslo process diverted Zionism from its course and held back the development of Israel in many ways. The current situation requires a fundamental change in policy, and since Oslo was killed by the Palestinians, it is up to Israel to initiate the change.

After the experiment of the disengagement from Gush Katif and its results, it seems that the only way out is to apply Israeli law to Judea and Samaria and to make the eastern border along the Jordan River. This should be carried out in coordination with the United States, who would be delighted for Israel to relieve it of the responsibility of creating "two states for two peoples."

This is all already known to leaders nowadays, yet they simply will not muster the courage to halt the continuous walk down a dangerous path toward trial balloons warning of repeating the mistake of fleeing from Gaza. The question is, what is preventing our leaders from completely changing this harmful paradigm by which the Israel has been operating for more than 20 years-

The reason, it seems, is their reluctance to deal with the demographic consequences of applying Israeli law to Judea and Samaria, relying on the incorrect claim that such an action will "bring an end to Zionism" and turn Israel into a "binational" state. But the reality is altogether different. It can be summarized by saying that today the stable Jewish majority between the river and the sea is not in jeopardy.

The fear that dictates the policy of our public figures on this topic is the result of the overwhelming success of Palestinian psychological warfare, which began the day we allowed Yasser Arafat and his cronies to set foot on Israeli soil. Arafat realized that he could not fight us head-on, and therefore adopted the method used by Gideon against the Midianites: Scare the enemy until they crack from the desire for self-preservation. It is for this purpose that the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics was established and carried out two censuses in the Palestinian territories. In both, the population figure was pushed up dramatically. And yet, even those falsified results showed a Jewish majority (of two-thirds) throughout the territory from the river to the sea, including Gaza.

The window of opportunity is now open for Israel to recalculate its route and to take its fate into its own hands by relying on the exclusive right of sovereignty granted to us through international law, and by taking several steps. First: Reach an understanding about this change in direction with the United States, and based on that understanding, cancel the Oslo Accords and announce that the two-state solution has failed and that policy is changing on the basis of international law.

Second: Remove the Palestine Liberation Organization and Hamas from Judea and Samaria and apply Israeli law there, while gradually granting citizenship to all residents not involved in terrorism if they so wish and establishing the Jordan River as Israel's eastern border. Dealing with the Gaza Strip will happen at a later stage and will be based on earlier experiences.

And finally: Initiate a proactive policy to encourage massive aliyah to Israel. Zionism was created precisely to allow communities facing adversity to come to Israel and help build it.
