Military Skylark drone crashes during operation over Nablus

Tactical surveillance drone's wreckage recovered by IDF troops operating in the sector • Military investigating circumstances of the crash • Skylark crash the second in a few days, as another drone had crashed over Israel-Lebanon border last week.

A military Skylark drone crashed Sunday during an operation over Nablus, the IDF said Monday, adding the drone was recovered by troops operating in the sector.

Skylark is a tactical surveillance drone developed by Elbit Systems and operated by the Artillery Corps.

Sunday's incident was the second Skylark crash in the span of a week: Last Monday, Lebanese media reported a Skylark drone had crashed in southern Lebanon, northwest of the border with Israel.

The Lebanon-based terrorist group Hezbollah claimed that it had recovered the drone's wreckage. Hezbollah's Al-Manar TV reported that Hezbollah operatives transported the drone "to a secure location for inspection."

The IDF has not commented on Hezbollah's claim, saying only that the military was investigating the circumstances of both crashes.
