Khamenei tweets graphic of Obama with a gun to his head

"We welcome no war, nor do we initiate any war, but if any war happens, the one who will emerge loser will be the aggressive and criminal U.S.," says tweet attributed to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei accompanying the graphic.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei tweeted a graphic of the American president pointing a gun at his own head on his English-language Twitter account on Saturday.

Although the account has not been officially verified by Twitter as being the ayatollah's, it is widely believed to belong to him, based on its content.

The graphic shows U.S. President Barack Obama in silhouette with a gun to his head, and is accompanied by text stating, "We welcome no war, nor do we initiate any war, but if any war happens, the one who will emerge loser will be the aggressive and criminal U.S."

On top of the graphic, a message warns that though the "U.S. president has said he could knock out Iran's military," that is not the case.

According to a report in the New York Daily News, the text alongside the graphic quoted Khamenei's July 18 speech, in which he told Iranians that the nuclear deal would not change Iran's policy toward the United States.
