The summer season of Taglit-Birthright Israel trips got underway on Wednesday and a record number of young Jews from 42 different countries are expected to visit Israel in the coming months within the framework of the program. The Taglit-Birthright Israel program brings young Jews from around the world to Israel on free 10-day educational trips, during which participants tour the country and meet young Israelis. More than 350,000 young Jews have taken part in Taglit-Birthright Israel trips. Taglit-Birthright Israel CEO Gidi Mark said the program greatly contributes to the Israeli economy and strengthens the tourism sector. "It is undoubtedly exciting to take part in this project, which has brought hundreds of thousands of young Jews to Israel, many for the first time," Mark said.
