Likud MK Gila Gamliel is set to meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah on Sunday as part of a visit organized by MK Hilik Bar (Labor) and the National Union of Israeli Students. Bar heads the Knesset lobby for promoting a solution to end the Arab-Israeli conflict. Gamliel recently joined the lobby, and is its only Likud member. She will join Bar and a delegation of 250 students for the meeting with Abbas. After the meeting, the two MKs are expected to make statements and the students will ask questions. Gamliel said the event would not be political. "The message is that both in the Labor party and in the Likud there is a desire to reach an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and there are legitimate disagreements," she said. Although once considered part of the Likud's far Right, Gamliel said, "I have learned to listen."
