Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Reuven Rivlin and Science and Technology Minister Ofir Akunis have visited the bereaved families of the soldiers killed in Sunday's ramming attack in Jerusalem.

Rivlin visited the families of cadet Erez Orbach in Alon Shvut and of cadet Shir Hajaj in Maaleh Adumim. Netanyahu also visited the Hajaj family, on Tuesday night. Akunis visited Yaakov and Shelly Yekutiel, the parents of Lt. Yael Yekutiel, in Givatayim. The fourth soldier killed was cadet Shira Tzur.

On Wednesday, Rivlin's wife, Nechama, visited critically injured cadet Aviv Bar at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

Speaking to the Yekutiels, Akunis apologized for the fact that no minister had attended the funerals of the soldiers killed in the attack.

"I apologize, for myself and in the names of all ministers, for this horrible mistake. We made a terrible mistake, for which there is no explanation," Akunis said.

On Tuesday, Cabinet Secretary Tzachi Braverman held a meeting on the issue of ministers and their deputies attending the funerals of soldiers. Eli Ben-Shem, the chairman of the Yad Lebanim fallen soldiers' memorial organization, and a representative from the IDF's Personnel Directorate were among those at the meeting.
