The 14th case of Zika in Israel was reported on Tuesday after a man was diagnosed with the virus following his entry to the country, the Environmental Protection and Health ministries said in a joint statement. The man, who is currently in northern Tel Aviv and in good condition, contracted the virus abroad and has been told to follow specific guidelines to prevent further exposure. Officials stressed that all the Zika cases in Israel so far have ended with a full recovery, and there were no reports of the virus being locally transmitted in Israel. The ministry said that local authorities will have to carry out aerial spraying in their jurisdiction as needed, and that residents should follow instructions to prevent unnecessary exposure. Meanwhile, the Environmental Protection Ministry announced Tuesday that mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus were found in northern Jerusalem and in certain areas north of Tel Aviv. Authorities in the affected regions were told to step up prevention measures. Some 60 people have been diagnosed with the West Nile fever in Israel in 2016, the ministry said.
