Less than a week after Hezbollah military commander Mustafa Badreddine was killed in an explosion in Syria, the Lebanese Shiite terrorist group has reportedly chosen a replacement -- Mustafa Mughniyeh, Badreddine's nephew and the eldest son of Imad Mughniyeh, the infamous Hezbollah military commander who was assassinated in Damascus in 2008. A report published on Tuesday by the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper described Mustafa Mughniyeh as a secretive figure whose image has never appeared anywhere in the media. He was reportedly born in Tehran in 1987. Jihad Mughniyeh, the youngest son of Imad Mughniyeh, was killed in January 2015 in an airstrike, attributed by foreign media outlets to the Israeli Air Force, in the Quneitra region of southern Syria. According to foreign media reports, Israel was responsible for Imad Mughniyeh's death in a February 2008 car bombing.
