Israeli security forces on Monday demolished the homes of three Palestinian terrorists who killed an Israeli border policewoman and seriously wounded another before being shot dead by nearby officers at an entrance to Jerusalem's walled Old City in February. The three terrorists, Ahmed Rajeh Zakarneh, Muhammad Ahmed Kmail, and Ahmed Najeh Abu al-Rub from the northern West Bank village of Qabatiya, launched the attack on Feb. 3 at Damascus Gate, a busy plaza in east Jerusalem, after being stopped by police for an identity check. Another border policewoman was stabbed and wounded, and two pipe bombs were found at the scene. Israeli officials say home demolitions deter other Palestinians from launching terrorist attacks. Cohen's father said Monday: "We will continue the path of our Hadar, I'm certain that we will defeat terrorism. We cannot bring our Hadar back, but, with all the pain and difficulty, today marks the closing of a circle for us." A Palestinian Authority official told Israel Hayom that the families of the terrorists would receive financial aid from the PA and various nongovernmental organizations to rebuild their demolished homes.

All of the three attackers were carrying concealed weapons and at least one of them opened fire with an automatic rifle, killing one of the policewomen, 19-year-old Hadar Cohen, before they were shot dead by Israeli security forces.
