Israeli Arab MK Ahmad Tibi (Joint Arab List) is indifferent to the fury his statements in an interview to Channel 2 on Friday have caused. Tibi, when asked what prompted a 13-year-old boy to carry out a terrorist attack, said: "The Palestinians hate you. They have hatred for you. Not because you're Jews, but because you are an occupying people." Tibi also said that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas had been "mistaken" in his statement that terrorist Ahmed Manasra, 13, who stabbed and critically wounded a 13-year-old Jewish boy in Pisgat Ze'ev last week, had been killed by Israeli security forces. "[Abbas] made a mistake. He didn't lie. He got confused with the boy's 15-year-old cousin, who was killed." In addition, Tibi said the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had claimed that Arab protesters were waving Islamic State flags at demonstrations. "That's a lie," he countered. Tibi's words met with outraged responses on social media. Some called him a "Trojan horse" and a "warmonger." Others said that his incitement was "reminiscent of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt."
