Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met on Monday in Jerusalem with visiting Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias. The prime minister thanked Kotzias for coming to Israel despite the ongoing economic crisis in Greece. Kotzias also met on Monday with Vice Prime Minister and Interior Minister Silvan Shalom, who expressed support for the idea of constructing a natural gas pipeline from Israel to Greece, with a significant portion of the funding coming from the European Union. Additionally, the Greek foreign minister met with Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely and Zionist Union MK Tzipi Livni.

"Today, we are two Western democracies seeking peace, stability and security in the Eastern Mediterranean," Netanyahu said. "May I add that we also seek prosperity? That's something that's important, and we are committed to help in any way we can to ensure your success, not only because of friendship, but also because I think we live in an interwoven world where the stability of one country affects the stability of many countries. ...
