A Palestinian Authority government minister died shortly after a confrontation with Israeli soldiers during a protest on Wednesday in the West Bank. Ziad Abu Ein, a minister without portfolio, was rushed by ambulance from the scene, in the village of Turmus Ayya, but died en route to a hospital in the nearby city of Ramallah. Details were still unclear as of press time. The IDF said it was looking into the incident.
