The Israel Prison Service's release committee decided on Thursday that Anat Kamm should be freed from prison in 10 days, 16 months before her previously scheduled release date. Kamm's sentence was cut short largely due to good behavior in prison. Kamm was sentenced in 2011 to 4½ years in prison for leaking classified military documents to Haaretz reporter Uri Blau during her military service in the Israel Defense Forces Central Command. In 2012, the Supreme Court reduced Kamm's sentence to 3½ years. For his part in the case, Blau was sentenced in 2012 to four months of community service. In 2008, Blau used some of the documents Kamm gave him in an investigative report, approved by the military censor, on the IDF's alleged disregard for a 2006 High Court of Justice order about the targeted killings of Palestinian terrorists in Judea and Samaria.
