Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi, founder and president of the Israel Project, is stepping down.

Mizrahi founded the Israel Project, which works to get proper facts on Israel and the Middle East to policy leaders and journalists, 10 years ago. The Israel Project is committed to ensuring better and more fair coverage of Israel into the mainstream media, and Mizrahi has been instrumental in carrying out the organization’s vision.

According to the Israel Project, Mizrahi “plans to establish a communications consultancy focusing on advocating for the rights and needs of special needs children.”

Mizrahi announced in 2007 that she planned to exit the organization for personal reasons, but after the board said they were unable to find someone to fill her shoes, she stayed on. This time around, Mizrahi and the Israel Project have both said that the group is in a better position to find a replacement thanks to company reorganization and management training.

The Israel Project has offices in Washington, D.C. and Jerusalem. It has 75 people worldwide. It is now conducting a broad search for a new CEO to take Mizrahi’s place.
