The first incident took place early Wednesday evening, when a Palestinian terrorist rammed his car into a bus stop at the entrance to Kochav Yaakov, southeast of Ramallah, narrowly missing several soldiers and civilians waiting at the bus stop. The driver, holding a knife, attempted to exit the vehicle, and was shot by the soldiers. He was later identified as Hussein Abu Gosh, a resident of the Qalandia refugee camp. The second incident took place near the Palestinian village of Aboud, adjacent to Ramallah, where terrorists driving by an IDF post opened fire on the soldiers. The troops were unharmed and returned fire, hitting the driver, who sustained a head injury and was taken to Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer. The soldiers found a Carl Gustav rifle in the car.
