Rapper gets rapped for saying he 'feels like Hitler'

"I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I'm (expletive) insane, like I'm Hitler," famous rapper Kanye West says, but lashes out against critics and says he is misunderstood.

Provocative musician Kanye West made headlines on Tuesday when he compared himself to Hitler, in the midst of a tirade against his critics at the Big Chill music festival in England.

"I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I'm (expletive) insane, like I'm Hitler," he said. "One day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did."

Controversial Nazi-related statements have recently rocked the fashion and entertainment industries. In March, top fashion house Christian Dior fired British designer John Galliano, who had worked for the company for 15 years, after a video surfaced online showing him allegedly making anti-Semitic comments and slurs.

In a similar incident, acclaimed Danish director Lars von Trier jokingly proclaimed himself to be "a Nazi" in response to a reporter's question about his German roots. Von Trier was referring to his recent discovery that he was born to German parents despite having been led to believe that he was Jewish.

"What can I say? I understand Hitler. I think he did some wrong things, yes absolutely, but I can see him sitting in his bunker in the end. I sympathize with him a bit," Von Trier said, igniting a fire storm.
