Israel slams Jordanian support of synagogue terrorists' families

Israeli Embassy in Amman on Monday issues harsh letter of protest and condemnation to Jordanian Foreign Ministry following letter of support sent by Jordanian PM Abdullah Ensour to families of terrorists behind last week's synagogue massacre in Jerusalem.

The Israeli Embassy in Amman on Monday issued a harsh letter of protest and condemnation to the Jordanian Foreign Ministry following a letter of support sent by Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour to the families of the two terrorists behind last week's synagogue massacre in Jerusalem.

The two east Jerusalem residents entered a synagogue in the Har Nof neighborhood armed with guns and axes and killed four worshippers and a police officer, before being shot dead by police.

On Monday, Israeli diplomats presented their Jordanian counterparts with several examples of anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli cartoons published in the Hashemite kingdom recently, pointing to the scope of incitement currently taking place in Jordan and the resulting escalation of hostilities.

Meanwhile, a delegation of community representatives and residents of Har Nof visited the Western Galilee home of Druze police officer Zidan Saif, who was killed on duty while confronting the terrorists at the Jerusalem synagogue.

The delegation presented Saif's young widow with a letter written to her by the widows of the other four victims killed in the attack, in which they expressed their appreciation for her late husband's actions.

A memorial service for the victims of the attack was scheduled to be held in the Har Nof neighborhood on Tuesday evening, as the seven-day mourning period ends.
